Lamine Najma presents her gold medal to the Minister of Social Affairs.

The official  presentation ceremony  of the gold medal won during the Special  Olympic World Games last June in Germany by a girl with autism  named Lamine Najma Louisette NDOGNDJE

took place today at the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The mother of Lamine Najma  thanked the Presidential  couple Mr and Mrs Biya for investing  in caring for children with autism. The President of the Cameroonian Federation for Intellectual Deficiency expressed his joy and happiness for this state recognition  of an athlete  with disability. He listed other athletes who won medals in some international competitions some years back and implored the Ministry  of social Affairs to continue recognizing and valourizing these talents of persons with disabilities.

The Minister of Social Affairs, Mrs Pauline Irene NGUENE congratulated athlete Lamine Najma and her parents for making Cameroon proud. She equally used this opportunity  to sensitize families to stop hiding children with disabilities. They should stop condemning them into isolation and that they should be given equal chances to eduation. There are MINAS structures that offer  education and empowerment to children with disabilities and children with disabilities can excel when given equal chances with other children.
